REHEARSAL TESTS

In addition to the above papers there will be 10 rehearsal test papers in each subject. These rehearsal papers are to be done at home under the supervision of the guardian and the answer papers are to be sent to me for valuation.

PRACTICE TEST PAPERS

There are 10 practice test papers, each containing 120 questions. These papers will be done during the second contact class.

CLASS ROOM TEST

In every contact class there will be a class room test paper containing 10 questions from each subject. They will be valued on the spot.

FEE

Fee for the Correspondence course is 650/1000 U.S. Dollars which is to be paid as D.D. at the time of submitting the application. The DD is to be drawn in favour of Prof. P. C. Thomas, cashable at New York. The two contact classes are free for those who join the correspondence course. Even if you do not attend the contact classes, you will not get any refund of fees.

ELIGIBILITY

For admissions to the correspondence course the following minimum mark is required
SSLC - 80% CBSE - 75% ICSE - 75%
Total number of students:- Boys 50, Girls 50.
You shall send the application in the prescribed form only, which is available from me on request. You shall download the application from the web site or take photocopy.

MODE OF APPLICATION

Each student or guardian or his agent has to contact me by post, or in person whichever is convenient to the student. Application form will be sent to them on request.

Filled application form is to be sent to me along with D.D. and two passport size photographs by registered post. On receipt of the above, the first set of papers, identity card, sample response sheet and fee receipt will be sent to them by speed post.

WHAT THE STUDENT HAS TO DO

Each student will work out 1 paper from each subject and send the response sheets to me at the end of every month. For answering these papers, you can refer to the hints supplied from time to time. Thus four papers will be answered in each month. The answer papers will be valued and marks will be intimated. Sample response sheet is enclosed. Do not send the question papers. The answer papers will be returned when they come for the contact classes. It is advisable that the student keeps a carbon copy of the response sheet with him/her.

ADVANTAGE OF THE CONTACT CLASSES

The contact classes are free to the students of the correspondence course. There will be about 200 hours of class during the first contact class and about 200 hours of class during the second contact class. All the questions which the students want, will be done in these classes. During the first contact class the Gulf students get an opportunity to know how the Kerala students are preparing for the entrance examinations and also the keen competition existing among them.
Further they can attend all the regular classes going on here for the second year students.They can also utilise the entrance library maintained here.In all respects the first contact class is worth the expenses incurred for attending the course. The second contact class does not involve any additional expense since the student has to be go over to Kerala to write the examination.

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS

Correct answers for the questions will be sent to you as and when the response sheets are received.

1.   New scheme for students of 2008 admission in 11th class with 3 contact classes

        From 2008-09 onwards we are starting contact class for 11th students also( 2008 admission in +1 and writing entrance in 2010) . This year the contact class is for students from Saudi Arabia only. Next year it will be extended to other gulf countries also. This year the first contact class will be from 10-08-08 to 27-09-09 with onam holidays from 06-09-08 to 14-09-08, both days inclusive. The second contact class will be during their holidays in the year 2009. It will be for 1 ½ month. The third contact class will be after their board examination in 2010. The total number of days of contact class will be about 80 days. The fee for whole course is 1000 U S dollars. The hostel charge will be Rs. 4500/ month. This course will cover most of the theory topics as well, in addition to the entire entrance topics.

2.   Scheme for students of 2008 admission in 11th class with 2 contact classes

        This is for the students of other countries .The course will be extended over two years. It starts from June 2009 and ends by the 1st of May 2010. The student can join any time before strting the class. There will be two contact classes for thisbatch. The First contact class will be from 10 june to 20 july for students from Muscat, during August for students from K S A and during July for all others ihn the year 2009( During the holidays in different countries. There may be slight variation depending on the holidays) The second contact class will be during March-April 2010, after the Board Examination. The contact class is for 3 subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics). The fee for whole course is 650 U S dollars. The hostel charge will be Rs. 4500/ month

ACCOMMODATION

Boys and Girls will be given accommodation and food during the contact class for which they have to pay hostel fee. The accommodation is of dormitory type. The dormitory is situated at Elamthuruthy, exactly 6km from the town in a nine acre campus. There are two dormitories, one for Boys and another for Girls. The food is pure vegetarian food. Strict discipline is to be maintained in the dormitory. I want only those students who have come for one purpose only, namely to study. Those who find if difficult to accommodate themselves with the above conditions can stay outside and attend the class. The classes will be for 9 hrs starting from 9.00 am and end at 10.30 pm with sufficient intervals. During these classes we will finish the entrance coaching of first year complete and 10 papers from second year.

Short Term Course at the end of Second Year ( Crash course)

These classes usually starts immediately after the board examination. It will extend to about 5 days before the start of the Kerala entrance examination. There will be eight hours class per day. The classes are conducted at Chaithanya Classes, Kammath Lane, Sankarayya Road, West Fort, Thrissur - 4. The study material, examination papers and the system of coaching will be the same as that of Prof. P. C. Thomas Classes. The teaching faculty from Prof. P. C. Thomas Classes will be taking classes for these batches along with the teachers at Chaithanya Classes. The student or his agent has to contact Chaithanya Classes, for admission. The fee for the course is to be paid as DD (in Indian Rupees) in the name of Chaithanya Classes, cashable at Thrissur or in cash at the counter. On remitting the fee you will get

2) The study material for two years
3) Hints to questions
4) Sample response sheet
5) Identity Card
The student can join any time in the course of Plus 1 or Plus 2 . He can go through the study material and hints and start answering the questions using the hints during his regular school days. It will help his board examination on one hand and make the class room coaching at Thrissur easier. The actual date varies slightly from year to year.
